For safety reasons:

  • Make sure that your piece(s) does not have a roof that can be climbed upon.
  • All the parts of your piece that you can stand on, sit on, climb up on must not be taller than 100 centimeters.
  • If these parts that you can stand on, sit on, climb up on gets more than 60 centimeters tall, you have to create a railing. So, everything between 60 and 100 centimeters that you can climb op on, stand on, sit on, jump on needs a railing.
  • Your choice of extra materials are important – choose wisely
  • Think smart, both when designing and building
  • Questions you might think about:
    • How can your product get a long life?

  • Explain how and in what way your project is sustainable.
  • You are going to build your whole project on a field at Roskilde Festival. The location is very close to the Orange Stage. The buildup days are before the main music festival starts, but during the “camping festival” (see “Timeline” for all dates).
  • Your project will be displayed in this area and used by festival guests during the festival.

The Circular Lab is Denmarks largest testplatform for new sustainable ideas. The purpose of the lab is to give young, green entrepreneurs an opportunity to test their solutions, products and business models so that they can gain knowledge about how their solutions perform.

The Circular Lab uses Roskilde Festival and other smaller festivals and events as testing platforms which makes testing very easy since the festivals are easily accessible and forgiving environments.

The aim for Roskilde Festival and The Circular Lab is to become a circular festival. Building a temporary city for 130.000 people over ten days sets a carbon footprint, but by minimizing waste, controlling the input streams, and designing circular solutions and circular business models where guests rent instead of owning, we can minimize the footprint and create a sustainable festival.

Roskilde Festival and The Circular Lab is looking for green solutions, and by participating in this challenge, your solutions will be exposed to the people behind the festival. They in return will consider the options for further developing your concepts together with you. If your solution has the right potential we will support you in further developing your concept and test it at an even greater scale at Roskilde Festival 2025.
