IDA Mentor – a mentorship programme for new graduates

At IDA, we have a mentorship programme aimed at new graduates at the beginning of their careers. The mentorship programme matches you with a mentor in a 1:1 course for a duration of 6 months. In order to become part of IDA's mentorship programme for new graduates you must not have more than two years of work experience.

What advantages are there to having a mentor?

A mentor is your personal and professional sparring partner, who can help you navigate career opportunities and challenges.

There may be many reasons why a mentor is relevant for you just now. Especially if you need help finding your feet in the labour market. Or perhaps you’re getting a new role in the team for the first time, and you need a confidential space to discuss the process.

Possible benefits of being a mentee: - Help to a structured approach to opportunities, challenges and problems at work. - A confidential space in which you can discuss difficult topics. - Better opportunities to set goals for your career development. - New knowledge from an experienced person who understands your industry.

Match

We prioritise finding the right match between mentor and mentee, and we cannot always guarantee we can find this match.

When matching mentors and mentees, we focus on professional and personal competences, experience, goals, challenges and geography.

A requirement for signing up for the programme is that you are in employment.

However, if you’re a new graduate and unemployed, we can offer you a coffee meeting with an experienced IDA member instead.

Registration deadlines

Registration deadlines for the mentorship programme are in February and September (check the registration form to see specific date).

There are two mentorship programmes at IDA:

The first is our 6-month mentorship programme for new graduates with no more than 2 years of work experience, as presented above.
The second is a 9-month mentorship programme for all members with more than 2 years of work experience.

In the 9-month programme you will meet with your mentor/mentee approximately 6-8 times. In the 6-month programme you will meet with your mentor/mentee approximately 4-6 times. A typical meeting will last 1,5 hours and the mentee will be responsible for setting the agenda for the meeting

Registration process

The link to the mentor platform will be available soon. If you wish to receive an email notification when registration is possible, please write to idamentor@ida.dk.

If we find a good match for you, you’ll be invited to the course together with other matched mentees.

The course is held online.

On the course, we will explain the framework of the mentorship programme and present a series of tools you can use in the mentor-mentee relation. After the course, you’ll meet your mentor, and your mentorship period can now begin.

If you have any questions regarding the mentorship programme, please contact our programme managers:
