IDA Mentor – a mentorship programme for new graduates
In IDA's mentor program, you can either become or get a mentor, specifically aimed at recent graduates at the beginning of their careers. In the mentor program, you can be matched with a mentor in a 1:1 course for 6 months. To be part of IDA's mentor program for recent graduates, you must have a maximum of two years of work experience.
Why get or become a mentor?
A mentor is your personal sparring partner as a mentee who helps you handle career opportunities and challenges. Especially if you are new to the job market, a mentor can be an invaluable support. Consider getting a mentor to navigate the job market, receive career development advice, and build networks. If you are considering becoming a mentor, you can share your experiences and knowledge with others, which can be both rewarding and developmental for yourself.
If you wish to become a mentor, it is a fantastic opportunity to share your experiences and support a recent graduate in the job market.
What we expect from you as a mentee
- You have less than 2 years of job experience when participating in a 6-month course
- You have more than 2 years of job experience when participating in a 9-month course
- Payment is binding once the mentor has accepted your request
- After matching, you will be invited to the mandatory IDA Mentor Kickoff (next date, travel allowance possible)

Registration process
It is important that you fill out your profile thoroughly regarding what you want to work on in the program. Based on your profile, you will be presented with two to three potential mentors, from whom you can request one to be your mentor.
Remember that your profile will be read by several mentors, so do not write private or sensitive information. If you find a good match and the mentor accepts your request, the registration is then binding. Naturally, IDA cannot guarantee personal chemistry between mentor and mentee.
The mentor and mentee meet 4-6 times in a 6-month course. The meetings typically last 1 1/2 hours, and it is your responsibility as a mentee to prepare the agenda.
After matching
After matching, you will be invited to the mandatory IDA Mentor Kick-off (next date, travel allowance possible).
At the kickoff, we will go through the framework of the mentor program and present a range of tools that you can use in the mentor relationship. You will also meet your mentor or mentee.
